TALK TO ME
In your weakness, My strength is made perfect
“Lord, am I clean enough to approach you?”
“I don’t think it’s right to feel this way, I’ll rather get over this feeling before approaching you”
“I’m ashamed of myself, I’ll rather stay back”
“I’ll rather die in shame than to come back”
Which of these voices sound familiar?
I don’t know whoever need to see this, but God is not scared of your feelings, He does not condemn you. He said in His word, come unto me all you who are weary and heavily burdened and I will give you rest.
You’re not expected to do life alone, that’s why Christ came that you might have a new life in Him.
God never leaves His own, men might have left which might have caused you to build a wall around yourself, but on the inside you know that pain is too much to bear, that burden is too heavy.
This is a call to come boldly before the throne of grace that you might obtain mercy.
Hebrews 4:14-16
14-16 Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help. (MSG)
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (NKJV)
Society has conditioned us to think we must be ‘strong, void of emotions and perfect’ and unfortunately we tend to carry this mindset into our relationship with God.
The Shunammite woman, a notable woman in society when she lost her son kept her riches aside and was vulnerable when she met Elisha, she didn’t hide how she felt to the one who prophesied the birth of her son to her.
Mary, Lazarus brother fell at Jesus’s feet, weeping, when she went to meet Jesus, she did not care she was accompanied by many people.
In this day,
Society says – Showing vulnerability is weakness.
God says ‘come unto me all you who labor and are heavily laden and I will give you rest’
Vulnerability is an opportunity for God’s strength to be made manifest, it is an opportunity to draw strength from the one who created you.
2 Corinthians 12:9-11
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (ESV)
9-11 and then he told me,
My grace is enough; it’s all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become. (MSG)
Society says to men to be macho men, void of emotions, but we see even Jesus was weeping.
John 11:35 - Jesus wept
Society says to turn to other things.
God says come with your broken heart.
Psalm 51:17
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.
Tribe, vulnerability especially with the father has been spat on and this is not normal.
Even Jesus who is the perfect son of God was vulnerable with God and his disciples before going to the cross
Matthew 26:38-39
38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
God is not afraid of your feeling, neither is He going to condemn you for feeling certain ways, will He correct your wrongs, Yes, but He won’t condemn. Only a loving father will correct His own.
Don’t be too scared of what you’re feeling, that you are afraid to approach God, God is loving and not the wicked father that people might have painted Him as.
Tribe, don’t be so caught up in the pool of your feelings of guilt and condemnation that you are blind to God’s love and great mercies towards you.
I pray for everyone hurting one way or the other, I pray for peace, not as the world gives, but as God gives to overwhelm you and strengthen you, in Jesus name Amen.
Tribe, this minute, just spend some time of vulnerability, naked and unashamed, with the father.
I love you so much, but God loves you much more ❤️❤️
